As we long for the hot summer weeks to turn into cooler fall breezes, we are reminded of all that the busy fall season can mean for our families. Let's pause for a moment and let Brian's story give you encouragement.
Brian is a camper who received the gift of a two-week Christian adventure camp through one of Star Rock Ministries' urban partnerships. On the first day of camp, Brian showed up quiet, timid and unsure of what to make of camp's zany games and characters. However, that did not discourage his counselor and cabin mates from pouring into him and pushing him outside his comfort zone every day. On the first Friday of the session, Brian accepted an invitation to put God at the center of his life. After a long, quiet conversation and a prayer with his counselor, Brian looked up tearfully. He smiled and simply remarked, "I didn't know I could do that."
We know that if it weren't for Brian's counselor and cabin mates loving and supporting him, he may not have experienced such pivotal life transformation. Perhaps many of us can relate to Brian's story in this season. With distance learning, virtual office spaces, fires and much more, this fall comes with new challenges and yet, we hope that you are finding opportunities to receive and extend support within your community. We may find that as these fall weeks progress, we too will look back on this season and think,
"I didn't know I could do that."
