Mission
Star Rock Ministries partners with donors and organizations to gift Christ-centered camp experiences that grow faith, relationships, character, and life skills to youth from under-resourced communities and the U.S. military.
Over the years, staff members, camp families, and friends in the YSSC community asked how they could help increase our ability to share the magic of camp with at-risk and under-resourced children. From those initial aspirations STAR ROCK MINISTRIES was established as a 501(c)(3) organization. In its initial year, 40 children attended life-changing resident and day camp programs.
Star Rock Ministries launches its hallmark program, XLR8, offering 100 urban youth and 20 urban staff a week-long camp experience designed just for them. Currently, three XLR8 weeks are offered annually.
Through continued efforts and partnerships, Star Rock Ministries provided financial support and camp experiences to over 2,000 under-resourced youth in Southern California, the greater Houston, TX area, and throughout the country.

Star Rock Ministries partners with organizations seeking to foster growth of the whole child within under-resourced communities. Star Rock Ministries seeks to support and collaborate with year-round partnership organizations by enhancing their members’ learning and growth through intentional camp ministry. Partnership organizations are challenged to thoughtfully consider which of their students will most benefit from a meaningful camp experience and plan how camp will move these students forward as they build continued growth and impact throughout the year. XLR8

XLR8 (Accelerate) is a week-long program designed for urban at-risk youth who are involved in year-round youth development programs. Through XLR8, Star Rock Ministries seeks to support and collaborate with urban partnership organizations by enhancing campers learning and growth through intentional camp ministry that build relationships, character, skills, and faith.
Houston Network Camps
Houston, Texas
The Star Rock Ministries Houston Network provide summer camp programs in the state of Texas that build character, skills, mentorship and faith development to boys and girls ages 10-18 years old. Over 250 kids from the east wards of Houston are provided camping opportunities that grow life skills, spiritual development, academic enrichment, outrageous fun, team building, and year-round development from teachers, coaches, volunteers, and youth directors. Our SRM partners Summer Institute and Stronger Camps develop and lead these camps and are in partnership between several Houston community churches, schools, and urban youth mentor programs.
Urban Youth Workers Institute

Star Rock Ministries & UYWI have partnered to support and provide camping enrichment opportunties for Urban Ministry networks across America. This unique partnership is forged in their combined commitment to shaping youth and their communities with the extraordinary vehicle of camp. Networks who benefit from these camping opportunities will work collaboratively to learn, share, assess, and accelerate the needs of their community in order to work together on grow healthy and whole young adults. It is a Gospel-centered approach to enhancing these communities with invaluable gift of camp.
Camp Pendleton Marine Base and San Onofre School
CAmp pendleton, CA
For more than 15 years Star Rock Ministries and San Onofre School at Camp Pendleton have worked together to cultivate a relationship that supports military children living on base. Star Rock Ministries have provided hundreds of base kids adventures at Emerald Cove Day Camp and Yosemite Sierra Summer Camp. For many, these camping experiences are the only short break from their life of uncertainty
