This month,enjoy reading a letter from one of our donors on the value of stewardship at Star Rock Ministries. Meet Brett "Rufio" and Jenna "Tigger", former camp staff, parents, and big fans of The Gift of Camp.
Having been camp staffers, parents, and now investors in Star Rock Ministries, we have been fortunate to witness the enormous generational impact of camp. We are proud to give and serve alongside SRM to help kids experience the gift of camp.
Because of Star Rock Ministries, children are given an opportunity to broaden their view of the world, see what’s possible, and experience the love God has for them. For the child who has only ever gazed at the night sky from the streets of Los Angeles, beholding an endless array of constellations—or even a neighboring planet—can be not just awe-inspiring but life-changing. For a child who has been asked to shoulder the burdens of home, the gift of camp is simply the gift of carefree childhood. In a place where you are loved just for showing up, you tend to become the best version of yourself. What a joy it is to watch children thrive in an environment where the success of one camper is celebrated by all!
We’ve partnered with SRM in part because of our deep trust in its leadership. We’ve seen the executive team and board of directors make selfless decisions, pause for wisdom before taking next steps, and exude a sincere passion for camp. And the partnership staff! They care for the children and youth all year long, serving them with unwavering dedication.
In this season of generosity, love, and anticipation, we are excited to share with others what Star Rock is doing and are grateful to play a small part in helping it thrive!
