Merry Christmas from our Star Rock Ministries family to yours!

We are excited to introduce you to someone who has been part of the Star Rock Ministries family for most of his life. Andy Grubbs grew up attending Yosemite Sierra Summer Camp, one of the partner camps that Star Rock Ministries has resourced campers to attend. After experiencing the impact of camp as a camper, Andy spent his college summers on staff at YSSC. It was here that he developed his passion for camp ministry and the mission of Star Rock Ministries

Why do you invest in camp experiences, Andy?

"The question of "why camp?" is so hard to answer. To put it simply, Star Rock Ministries is an extension of my values; it's something that I truly believe and invest in because I am a product of it.

I want more people- everyone if possible- to have the experience I did. I want 9-year-old kids to come to camp nervous to be there, but leave so confident that their families do a double-take when they see them again. I want that child to run out of the meeting hall for a night game with zany characters or through the woods with hundreds of new friends just because it's fun. I want those kids to see their role models in their youth leaders and camp staff members. I want to see campers go out on backpack trips, to know that they are loved for who they are, to be part of a community of people who experience a moment of heaven with a little camp magic. A great thinker once said, "Next to the Blessed Sacrament itself, your neighbor is the holiest object presented to your senses." Camp not only opens your mind to the beauties and intricacies of your neighbor, but also your own self.

Being involved with Star Rock Ministries as a monthly donor is a small way that I can ensure that more people experience the gift of camp. Camp gave so much to me, why would I not want others to have the same? Join Haley and I in being a part of Star Rock Ministries."
