We'd like to introduce you to Vanessa Serrano Cruz! She is an extraordinary Student Ministry Director for Revive Church (formally known as 7th Street) and Star Rock Ministries board member. Vanessa has been attending and leading Revive students and volunteers at Star Rock's XLR8 camps since 2013. Vanessa's partnership and collaboration with Star Rock Ministries has grown significantly as she has become a key voice and mind alongside SRM in developing, shaping, and training camp volunteers in more effectively shaping urban youth in and through the gift of summer camping.
After several years of being involved with Star Rock Ministries XLR8 camps as a facilitator and urban youth director, it became clear that there was still more room to grow in partnering with Star Rock Ministries' mission. In Spring 2018, Vanessa joined Star Rock Ministries' board, bringing with her years of ministry experience and incredible insights into youth development, while serving faithfully on the ground in the cities of El Monte and Long Beach, CA. We encourage you to get to know more of Vanessa's heart for urban youth through this mini-documentary put together by one of our significant partners, Urban Youth Workers Institute.
